Joseph's parents were Joel Wheeler Pedrick and Mary Catherine Jenkins, documented elsewhere in Rootsweb. Their children are also well documented in Rootsweb. Anna Pedrick Sears was the grandmother of my mother, Juanita Lavelle Sears Pullen. Before her death, Anna recounted much of the family stories to Juanita. One that was always sad and incomplete was the story of Anna's brother, Frank.....Joseph Frank (Franklin) Pedrick. (he was the eldest of the four Pedrick children and was born in Payson, Adams County, Illinois on 07-12-1868. Frank was 13 when his father died suddenly. He must have stayed around the family for a couple of more years but was not happy with the situation. It seems that when Frank was about 15 or 16, he made the decison to leave the family and "go south to Texas". The family never saw or hard from him again...ever. Anna died in 1953 and in her last days, she wanted badly to see her brother. It was not to be.
