Many of my family who came to IL in the 1830-1850's came through New Orleans, traveled up the Mississippi River, stayed in St.Louis and then moved on up north to Quincy. They ususally stayed in St. Louis due to cold weather. I know my first family arrived in St. Louis in Dec, and the river was frozen and further travel could not be made till spring. BTW, you never mentioned Quincy, IL in your post, I assume she lived there at some time. Who did she marry? Are there any children?
