I know Macoupin Co. has an index of early births (up to 1881); I checked there the other day, and found about half a dozen Culps listed, but no Henry. If they're having to search thru their books, it may take a while. And you're right about births not always being recorded; my grandfather & 3 of his siblings' births are on record, but not the other 4. Go figure. Anyway, good luck. Libby
