    3. Another note on Frederick William Menke....(Found in Bornmann's Sketches of Early Germans of Quincy & Adams County, IL) In this book it mentions that Frederick Wm. Menke founded Menke Stoney & Lime in April 1863. This company served Illinois, Iowa and Missouri. It also stated he came to Quincy in 1852 via New Orleans. For some reason (I did not notate why the date is important) I have the date 4/23/1967 or 1969 (unable to decipher if a 7 or a 9) listed by him.
