Hi Marijean, Quincy is the town. There is a street called Sycamore in Quincy but I believe the addresses are 4 numbers not 2. Thanks, I believe this was way back in the late 1890's? Or somewhere in that time frame. We have their address as #19 Sycamore in several places. That is why I was wondering what the township would be. Marijean
may possibly be 3 numbers too but I don't think there ever was 2. What year are we talking about? I have the 1880 US Census CD's and could check but it sounds like a "Ward" and not a township.........I'll check my CD's and let you know Mindy Adams & Pike Co., IL Genealogy Host http://www.iltrails.org/adams/index.html http://www.iltrails.org/pike/index.html "Never argue with idiots. Addresses in Quincy are 3 and 4 numbers. I carried newspapers there for 3 years as a kid. Back in the old days, in many places, the first block of a street had only 1 or 2 numbers. I don't know if this was true of Quincy.
