He was flogged en route, jumped ship opon arrival, circa 1845-1850. Was released from German citizery in 1854, gained his US citizenship in 1860's. Lived in Penn., moved to Cincinnati. The US citizen papers have surname change from Lahmeyer (German paper's spelling) to Lameier.
