    1. [ILADAMS] Bloomfield, ILL - Irish settlers
    2. Lois Brinks-Heath
    3. I am still attempting to find my Tully family back in Ireland and want to know if any other folks with relatives who settled in Bloomfield might be willing to share what they have found on their own families. The families of Smith, Leonard and Tully all seem to have known each other as they sponsored each other in the sacraments in Bloomfield. There must have been some kind of a connection back in Ireland. In the "People's History of Quincy & Adams Co., I found this mentioned: "Edward Smith, a horse fancier from Ireland, was one of the early settlers. He purchased almost 1000 acres of land in that area and invited his sons and relatives to join him. He gave them all tracts of land as they flocked to Bloomfield." According to the title, he purchased this land in 1818, long before Quincy was founded. My g-grandfather, Patrick Tully, married into the Smith family and owned a tract of land in Bloomfield. I'm exploring if this is how Patrick was able to purchase land. Any ideas, hints, results of your own searches would be greatly appreciated. Lois Brinks-Heath

Found a death date for her of May 15, 1928. Need to verify that she is our family member. Jacob and Barbara Klehm sold property in Door County, Wisconsin in 1911 and disappeared. At that time Jacob was 78 and Barbara 68. In the 1910 census Barbara had 5 living children, last names might have been Heilmann or Haskell as she was married more than once. Thanks for any help. 1. [ILADAMS] Deed for Jefferson cemetery, Concord township, Adams county, IL
    2. Robert L. Webb
    3. Hi, I made a trip to the Adams county courthouse last week, and searched for deed records of the Jefferson cemetery, but was not able to find anything. I probably should have started with the assessor's office and tried to determine the present owner, and worked backward from there. But it is also possible that there is not a deed? I also searched for deeds for the Byler cemetery, and found the transfer from the heirs of John Byler to the Byler Cemetery association, in about 1881. I'm inclined to think this was the site of the LIttle Flock church of Regular Baptists until the time they built a new frame church in Coatsburg in the early 1870's, but was not able to establish that as a fact from deed records.
