He looks just like my great grandfather Joseph. Joseph's second wife Amelia died when I was about 4 years old. She had married an older man with a child Abraham. How is your Adam Welfelt related? Is he my great grandfather's brother? It seems like in each generation of Welfelt men there is a Joseph, a George and a Charles. After the civil war, Abraham seemed to be added to the line up. Someone else mentioned years ago about an Adam Welfelt married to a Sophis Fish. Any info you have I would appreciate. This is a family tree that is not at all clear to me. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. The indian was Adam O Welfelt (sometimes seen with two l's). He married by mothers great aunt Charlotte Hannas (appears sometimes without the s) They moved west to Kansas in the 1870's. He died pretty early (see find a grave: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSln=welfelt&GSbyrel=in&GSdyrel=in&GSob=n&GRid=42032128&) she lived past 1930 (still listed in 1930 census as Mother, Grant Welfelt household). It is up on the top of the river bluffs, in the trees, just north of the junction of county roads E 543rd LN and N 2523rd LN.
