Microfilm # 1845384 I believe is the marriage of William and Samira as the date of their wedding was 16 Apr 1848 in Adams County, IL. I am very interested in following up on the land records listed - especially the 160 acres with the issue date of 15 May 1852 and the 80 acres with an issue date of 20 May 1841. Can anyone tell me how I can obtain these records? Thank you. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I would love to have a similar description for my g-grandfather, Patrick Tully, who owned property in Bloomfield, Ellington Twp, Illinois, from about 1865 thru 1889. I can find him on a plat map from that time, but don't know how to read the map to get a description of his land so I can trace how and who he purchased it. I know very little about land records, and am wondering if any of those listed would be in Richfield Township, Adams County. Also, is the issue date the date that the land was purchased? I can place my Wm Henry Stansbury and his wife Semira in Richfield, Adams County in the 1850 census, which has him recorded as owning land. I know he left IL about 1855 and settled in WI. I am hoping to find the land description of the land he was living on in the 1950 census and then to find the records of how he disposed of the land when he moved. The land they are recorded on in the 1850 census is listed right next to land ownded by his wife's brother Oscar Leach. If by chance the land was owned by his wife could it be listed in her name, Semira Leach Brown Stansbury? Any help is greatly appreciated. I am pretty new at geneology and didn't realize it was Adams County IL page. I don't know if this is my guy for sure. My grandfather was Harold Mast and his father's name was George W Mast who had a brother named Frank. I am kind of thinking this is correct. But I found other information re; this lineage that has Sebastian's son George with a different initial. The area could be correct. Thank You for the information.
