This would have been Mary's father and uncle according to what my mother tells me. She also was told that their nephew John Mast came to the US and eventually settled in Paulding County. Recently discovered that Poline Bok's maiden name was Mast according to her son's (Enos Andrew Bok) death certificate. Poline and husband, Amand Bok are buried with several members of Ferdinand's family in Hill Cemetery, Defiance, Ohio. I thought they were related just through marriage of Enos Andrew Bok to Sebastian Mast's dau., Barbara. Have any further knowledge of this Mast/Bok tie? Also found the nephew, John Mast, staying with the Bok family in the census record. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Grand parents,James or John, wife Sarah, both born in Kentucky, moved to Wisconsin in early 1880s. I have a list of their children, some information on their lives. My Grand father and his brother ended up in Illinois. My Aunt told her son they had more than a 100 cousin living in and around Chicago in the late 1800s. Story goes that Sarah was from the Duke family, possibly parents had died, Uncle disinherited her on her wedding day because J--- Marston had some Indian blood. He was in the Black Hawk War. They had 8 children and yet I can't find any of them other than my Grandfather John Richard Marston in Wisconsin census records. Sarah was living with John in 1870 census. Wonder if Duke had the power to whip out her name and history. John Richard's brother Lewis Marston was a well known architect and was profiled in History of DeKalb, part 2. Don't know if any of this helps but would be happy to share what I have. M Holbrook Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
