In searching the 1880 census records, the only Charles Icenogle to come up with a birthplace in Kentucky, born around 1871 is listed as the son in the following family: 1880 Rising Sun, Ohio County, Indiana, NAF T9_0302, Pg 36B Jacob W. Icenoggle - self - m - married - w - 41 - Indiana - Fa: IN - Mo: IN Occ: Laborer America Icenoggle - wife - f - married - w - 39 - Indiana - Fa: CT - Mo: NY Occ: Keeping house Samuel Icenoggle - son - m - single - w - 22 - Kentucky - Fa: IN - Mo: IN Occ: Laborer George William Icenoggle - son - m - single - w - 21 - Kentucky Occ: Laborer Mary Icenoggle - dau - f - single - w - 18 - Kentucky Occ: At home Ella Icenoggle - dau - f - single - w - 14 - Kentucky Occ: At home Joseph Icenoggle - son - m - single - w - 12 - Kentucky Occ: At home Charles Icenoggle - son - m - w - 8 - Kentucky Occ: At home Anna Icenoggle - dau - f - single - w - 7 - Kentucky Orey Icenoggle - dau - f - single - w - 5 - Indiana Harriet Icenoggle - dau - f - single - 2 - Indiana James Icenoggle - gson - m - s - w - 4M - Indiana - Fa: Kentucky - Mo: Indiana This appears to be the family of your Charles Icenogle, father of Leonard. You'll probably need to research further to be sure, but hopefully it's a start. Later.... Okay, in doing a quick search of the census records, I find the following: 1920 Aurora City, Center Twp., Dearborn County, Indiana ED #36, Page 9B, Call Number T625_428, Enumeration date 14 Jan 1920 Line 85, House #110, Dwelling #214, Family #227 on East George Street Icenogle, Charles - head - m - w - 49 - married - can't read or write - Kentucky - fa: Kentucky - mo: Kentucky Occ: Laborer - foundry - wage earner Anna - wife - f - w - 45 - married - can read and write - Kentucky - fa: Kentucky - mo: Kentucky Albert - son - m - w - 21 - single - read and write - Indiana - fa: Kentucky - mo: Kentucky Occ: Laborer - U.S. Government - wage earner Verna - dau - f - w - 14 - single - read and write - Indiana Leonard - son - m - w - 8 - single - read and write - Indiana Lucy - dau - f - w - 4-3/12 - single McWilliams, Luther - boarder - m - w - 26 - single - Mississippi - fa: Ireland - mo: Scotland Occ: Helper - foundry - wage earner Also in 1920, there was a Charles C. Icenogle in Pikins City, Pikins Twp., Tazewell County, Illinois, ED #173, Page 6A, Roll Number T625_410: Line #12, House #200, Dwelling #121, Family #131 on State Street Icenogle, Charles C. - head - m - w - 50 - married - can read and write - Kentucky - fa: Kentucky - mo: Kentucky Occ: Carpenter - house - wage earner Nettie - wife - f - w - 43 - married - read and write - Indiana - fa: Indiana - mo: Indiana Floyd H. - son - m - 21 - single - read and write - Illinois - fa: Kentucky - mo: Indiana Occ: Carpenter - house - wage earner Silvya (??) F. - dau - f - 18 - single - read and write - Illinois Golda F. - dau - f - 15 - single - school - read and write - Illinois In 1860, Bainbridge Twp., Schuyler County, Illinois, Pg 87: Charles Icenogle - 28 - m - farmer - personal worth 100 - Kentucky Rachel - 24 - F - Illinois Sarah E. - 4 - F - Illinois But working back from the known place in 1920 of your Icenogle family, you might try the census records for the same township and city in 1910 and see if you can work back from there. Kentucky also looks like a good place to check since all of these Icenogles were from Kentucky. I'll try to look in 1880 also to see if I can give you some help. Later.... We originate from England, then Ireland and Scotland. Oh, there are also many in Australia. My great great great great grandfather was sent here from Middelex, England as an Indentured servant to work for an English landlord. We believe he settled in Albermarle County, Virginia. This was in October 1772. However, I have been able to locate the name Graley dating back in England as far as the 12th century. Fascinating !!! Well, I have to run now, would love to correspond with you if you are interested. Warmest Regards Angie

I would appreciate a look up from anyone who has access to the tax record books between 1841 and 1848 for Quincy, IL. I am looking for a John Johnson who lived in the area at this time, and he is difficult to locate because these dates are between the 1840 and 1850 Federal Census dates. Perhaps he will show up on a tax list. Thanks, Fran
That last e-mail, reference the above subject was not suppose to go to the Adams County Board. I doubled checked the address and it was not Adams County. That's twice that had happened to me on personal e-mails. Webtv is not suppose to get virus's so, I don't know why I type in one address and it shows up somewhere else. I just do not want to comprise someone else privacy by giving out their name and address.
Luella, I talked to the person who lives in the house that Harrison lived in. Name and address is: Art Holtman 654 N. 1850th Ave. Quincy, IL 62305 217-964-2570 I didn't get her name. The house sits on the Quincy, Ursa boundary. She remembered your visit. She told me that you mailed her the original pictures of the house before it was remodeled. Hope all went well on your trip.
