Surnames: Dickhut/Dickhudt/Rood/Schnarr/Beckmeyer Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/Wg.2ADE/3820 Message Board Post: Julie, I do not know the answer to your question, but perhaps you could answer one for me. My ancester, Johann William Dickhut arrived in Adams County in 1843 via New Orleans. He only lived three years, so has been VERY difficuly to find information on. Records of his sons and wife, Anna Elizabeth Mohrstedt show them coming from the same town as Christian G and Christoph Wilhelm Dickhut. John William (shown on his passenger list as Johan Fredr.) was born in 1796, so would be a little older than the other two. Christian Gottlieb Dickhut was living in the home of William Dickhut, son of Johan William, on the 1870 census, and William testified at the probate of Christian Gottlieb's will (I have a copy). Also my gggrandfather, Gottlieb Dickhut, is shown as Christian Gottlieb on the passenger list. Do you know anything of the family of Christian Gottlieb and Christoph in Germany that might show any connection? I keep changing my email, but it never seems to change, but it is wmilford2@comcast.net. Thanks for any help you can give. Susan Milford

    1. [ILADAMS] 12Oct1899 Will of Theodore S. Wheeler
    2. hi, Would anyone on the list have ideas on the simplest way a friend of mine could get a faded page recopied from a will? Pasted below is a copy of her e-mail: I have a request for the will of Theodore Wheeler, I find that I have only the 1st and last pages of this will. It was not a copy that you could keep forever. Page 2 has faded until you cannot make it out. Was wondering if you could locate it for me and get a copy. I do not have a # of the document. Here is the info that I have taken from the document: (Theodore S. Wheeler of the town of Columbus in the County of Adams and State of ILL. of the age of 72.) I think the S stands for Sampson. Page 3 has "In witness whereof I have_____ to set my hand and ____this 12th day of October on the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and ninety nine." Has his mark signature. thanx dennis
