Looking for contacts with Ancestors who lived around or married someone from the Glenvil, Clay County Nebraska area. This was a community of mostly Ostfrieslands and those who first settled in the Quincy, Adams County, Minonk, Woodford County, and Peoria, Peoria County, Illinois as well as other various states surrounding Nebraska. I have the We Will Go to New Land by Robert Berends and have used that to make the Illinois connections to Glenvil. Their Ostfriesland travels were Holtrop, Timmel, Bangstede, Engerhafe, Simonswold, Aurich, Westerende and many many more of course. This was a small community with very large families who married, so you will probably relate to most everyone in the town somehow. I already have many contacts from various families so there is much to offer you. Donna

I have not been able to locate anyone in La Grange or Lewis County willing to do it. Would anyone know of someone I could ask in that vicinity? Either snapshots or digital would be fine. When she asked me to do it she unaware that I live about 225 miles away in Lee's Summit, MO. I would do it if I could, and might be able to fit it in later, but she would like to have it for a family celebration on August 17. Although, I'm sure she would appreciate having it whenever. According to the Emerald, NE St. John Lutheran church records, he died 20 Jan 1899, though there is some notation about 23 Oktob 1898. I think that has to do with where he was living. I knew that she divorced him but didn't have the date. He is listed as "Rev. Klockemeyer" but I have yet to find a church where he was a minister! Family lore says he was an "itinerant" minister. The family must have left Adams Co before 1875 since his name and her children start showing up in church records in Middle Creek (Emerald), Lancaster Co. NE about that time. I have copies of the church records from the two lutheran churches in the Emerald, NE area and they are full of Heidenreichs, Naderhoffs and others probably related to Adams Co people. We're not related by blood but it appears that Rebecca's daughter, Christina Naderhoff Lostroh, was a sponsor at my grandmother's baptism. Contact me if you want to share more information.
