Well Mindy I know when I came home last year that the hwy 's are all misted up I would be better to be back like it used to be. That part of the country was just fine and still is fine with out all this new hwy garbage. LOL I miss being home but get to come back once in a while. I have a few family members left up there. Miss the old gang a lot. It used to be to go to Lorraine you go by the fair grounds or go up through Ursa or has that changed to. Linda Mindy wrote:Yes Linda it is on Hwy 24 but you can get to it via 336............I go that way to their house all the time. The exit you take that states "Lorraine" IS Hwy 24! Thank you Linda and Mindy. Sorry Mindy but I left Quincy in 1964 when I was 15 and now live in California. I know how to get to Lima, Warsaw and Hamilton from Quincy but I just don't remember how to get to some of the other places. I am trying to figure out which cemetery book I have that I need to look in. I wasn't sure I had the right book but now I think I do. Maybe Lorraine has Fowler in it. I have done extensive research on the ZOPF/ZOPH names in Adams County, IL. I don't have a connection to any ZOPF in Kankakee. The Eilizabeth ZOPH mentioned in the article is the daughter of Henry and Katharina SIEBERT ZOPF both born in Germany. They had two other children Adam (b:circa 1820) and Henry Jr. (b: circa 1821) One of these days I need to branch out a bit and see how the ZOPF's from Kanakee look but I haven't done that yet. I am willing to exchange any ZOPF/ZOPH information that I have with you. Send me an email direct at davezopf@yahoo.com Dave

The square I believe they are talking about is Washington Park. It was (I believe) known as Washington Square at one time. There is a possibility that this Reed Studio was north of the square. I know its not there today. If I can remember off the top of my head, there is a blank lot on the Northwest side, then a furniture store of some sort, The Inferno (I think thats the name and its a night spot), O'Griff's Pub is there, the old Washington Theatre is there, there is some other store that when you walk in you go down, and then there is the law offices of Blickhan, Lewis and Timmerwalke on the Northeast corner.
