Does anyone know if there was a County Home or a girls home (either as a reform school or a school for unwed mothers) in Adams Co.? This would have been in the late 1920's. Thanks

Linda, My husbands' grandfather, Andrew J. Strahan was born in Golden, Illinois on Sept. 26, 1874. His (possible) brother, John Strahan, was born in La Prairie, Illinois in Nov. 1880. My Orr's lived around Hull, Kinderhook & the New Canton area.
There is also a WALKER cemetery in Liberty, IL. out in the country on a dirt road. Found a Charles W. WALKER 1845 - 1926 buried there, but no Charles M.

Hi List, Can someone point me to a listing for the Old Payson Cemetery? Or, could I get a lookup for Mary Tilton who died about 1853. I am trying to find her full name. Their may be two Mary Tilton's listed in the Cemetery. Thanks, John
This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/Wg.2ADE/3792.1 Message Board Post: Do you have any idea where Charles Walker lived in Adams County? There is a "Walker" family cemetery located on a blacktop road that runs between Augusta, IL and Clayton, IL. This cemetery is about four miles south of Augusta. It is in the middle of a farmers field. I have some pictures of monuments in this cemetery but none that match your criteria. Do you have any other relatives that could be buried here? I live about 100 miles from Augusta. Ray Simmons
