The name "Broeker" certainly drew my attention. My Great Grandmother, Catherine Stening (b. Oct. 2, 1826 in Germany, married Gerhard Broeckers on July 21, 1852. He died Sept. 8, 1852, she was pregnant and had a baby girl Apr. 26, 1853. She then married my Great Grandfather, Bernard Heinrich Groeting, Nov. 22, 1853. I have tried everything I know to find out why and how he died. I have not been able to find anything. I do have the recording of the marriage in 1852. I would really appreciate any news you may have.
