We found the WA archives people to be more than helpful and their eagerness to help was refreshing.

I definitely think there were political reasons for the Apsley who came to America in 1678 doing so as he was closely connected to the Wroth and Blackiston familys who also came to the same region. THey o;riginally came to the Eastern shores of VA and MD in the USA, all about the same time. Barbara Apsley MIller

Information in admittance files usually contains information on date and place of birth, parents names, marriages, children, etc., etc. You can request a copy of his file from the archives by e-mail at research@secstate.wa.gov They will copy the contents of his file and mail the information to you. There may be a small charge for copying. Hope this helps.

    2. Carla and Jeff Leber
    3. According to family tradition, James K.P. Liggett died in the Quincy Soldiers and Sailors Home (even though I have checked the archives and have not found him as a resident there). His death date is unknown at this time. The last date I found him is 1909 in Peoria. He was born around 1844 and an Indiana Civil War Veteran. I was wondering if someone could tell me if he is listed in Quincy Veterans Home, Sunset Cemtery book. Thanks - Carla

My father is the only living male Altrogge of his generation. Although the article says that Theodore Altogge (my great-great grandfather) died shortly after he arrived from Germany I have found his burial record at St Anthony Church and a record of 2 marriages within 6 months of each other in 1849. The first wife died in an influenza epidemic and he married a widow lady with I believe a little girl named Louisa. I also found his will in the Adams county court house records. I would love to hear from you and discuss this further. I haven't been able to do any research for some time but am finally getting back into it. I have some records from Germany and a few leads to follow there. Linda Ohnemus 4014 1/2 Payson Rd Quincy, IL 62305 tclady2@hotmail.com

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Thompson, Peters, Murphy, Graham Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/Wg.2ADE/3914 Message Board Post: We are searching for the siblings and ancestors of Thomas Frank Thompson, born in Quincy or Adams County in or about 1848. He is often found in the records as both Frank and Thomas. We cannot find him in the 1850 Adams County records, but he served in the Civil War in either the 53rd or 55th Illinois Infantry, enlisting at Quincy. Later census records list both his parents as being from Ohio. He married Melissa Jane Murphy Peters in Grant County IN in 1888. We know of no earlier marriage, but an earlier marriage is certainly possible. He is found in the 1900 census at the postmaster in Westport, Chehalis (now Grays Harbor) County in WA. He is in the 1920 census at the Retsil Veterans Home in Kitsap County WA, and in 1925, at the age of 77, is in Cordova Alaska. His wife Melissa died in 1913 and is buried in Tumwater WA. Shown on records in WA are Harry and Vivian Graham, related somehow to either Melissa or Thomas. Harry and Vivian had son Warren W Graham in 1916 w! ho died in 1917. We appreciate anyone who can make a connection for us. Thanks.
