This church sounds like a Catholic Church. You can try contacting the Diocese. You should be able to call a Catholic Church in your area. They should be able to give you an address for the Diocese that St. Rose is located in. The Diocese should have some sort of record. I may be out in left field on this, but it is worth a try. I found information at places I would never have thought of thanks to the good people out there. Hope this helps Shari

My husbands great grandmother- sarah Dowling 's Funeral was conducted at St. Rose of Lima Church on Monday, March 20, 1916 with burial at St. Boniface Cemetery. (quincy illi.) re: The canton news (lewis county mo.) she died in lagrange mo, (lewis co.) My question is.... Do you think that "St. Rose of Lima Church" would have any family information in their records, since the funeral was "conducted" there? I Retrieved some information from calvery about the st. boniface cem records, of sarah, - there are no stones, and although we "believe they re buried there, we can not be sure, because they didnt list any dates, just that they owned them, actaully 3 of them, as their daughter is definitly buried there. (age 10) SO any ideas about st. rose of lima records? I wrote them with no reply, even though I sent SASE, Is st. rose of lima still in buisness today? any ideas where records from 1916 could be? Thank you so much, I appreciate this message board. everyone is so helpfull. dawn dowling mizzou1@missvalley.com

I'm looking for BESSIE M. THOMPSON (maiden name MCKEE), who was born around 1902. She was married to CHARLIE S. THOMPSON, born around 1898. In 1920, they lived in Quincy, where he was a streetcar conductor and she was a saleslady in a bakery. Her mother lived with them in 1920 -- SARAH KINDER. Maiden name was WHITEHOUSE. She was divorced from JOHN MCKEE in 1910 and had married a KINDER (first name unknown by me) by 1910. In 1920, she was a widow (age 50). The MCKEE family lived around Plainville and several of them later lived in Barry. Any information at all on any of these people would be greatly appreciated. I can't seem to find them in the 1930 census at all. Thanks! - Tonia
Tom, I searched the Statewide Illinois Marriage Index for your names. I even did a combination of the names, and just used the last names. All I found was Lizzie Ernst married to Louis Kircher, Shelby Co. Feb. 2, 1882. Sarah J. Lee married Andrew J. Lee, Clay County, May 10, 1884. Sara Lee to J.M. Lee, Clay County. Dec 30, 1866. There are a tremendous amount of Lees married to Lees!! I will go back and try the names in the Adams County option. I usually use the Statewide as it seems to find the names. You can access this at www.usgenweb.com/il Scroll down to Statewide (IRAD). When you get to the IRAD website, click search for genealogical search. This has a Statewide Marriage and Death Index, plus other info. The marriage index only goes to 1900 and the death index is 1916 to 1950. I am not sure if a 1900 census is available for the area you are searching. Do you know where Louis Kircher and Sara Lee are from? Shari

Isaac's wife is recorded as Hopson in the Early Marriage Records of Shelby Co., MO, however, the DAR records in Willows, Glenn Co., CA and the Death Records for Glenn County 1891-1939 show her maiden name as Thompson. Maybe she first married a Hobson. Her obit says she died Jan. 15, 1917 in her son Joseph's home in Germantown (now Artois), Glenn Co., CA.
