    3. I noticed your VANCE posting. My gr gr gr grandmother was Amanda VANCE from KY born 1819. She married Joshua CHILDERS. Their daughter Altha Ann CHILDERS married Wm Edward GILLESPIE in 1868 and moved to Adams Co., IL. Amanda VANCE's parents are Robert VANCE & Elizabeth PIERCE. They also had a son named Robert VANCE born 1827. Other than that I don't know anymore about this family, yet. Is there any connection to your VANCE? I am researching Morris ancestors who lived in Quincy in the 1890s, and before that lived in nearby Missouri towns and would go to Quincy for religious purposes, starting in the 1860s. Relatives continued that practice even after 1900. This time frame is different than yours, but I wonder if you have come across information about Morris family members in Quincy that might relate to my family? Thank you. Will Ogburn

Some years ago I tried without success. I know several ancestors are buried there, and it would be a great help to be able to have someone read the gravestones and, if possible, view the temple records or graveyard maps if any are available. I am looking for these names: MORRIS, SCHNEIDER, SNYDER, and BARNETT. These families lived in Missouri beginning in the 1860s, and would travel to Quincy for religious purposes. 1. [ILADAMS] Carlotta: Kaiser/Schnell
    2. shari & chuck horton
    3. Carlotta, I just went to the IL Statewide Marriage and Death Index. I did a last name only for statewide and for Adams County. For Frederick Kaiser, I found several Kaisers listed in the marriage index. It showed a Frederick Kaiser married to Anna Staurck (Stanrck), Nov 24, 1860, Adams Co, The other names were Adolph, August, Two Henry's, and William. I would think that the name Schnell was probably shortened at some point. The women's name in the marriage index married to Kaisers were all German sounding. In the death index I found 3 Fredericks. Frederick Ernest Kaiser, d. 6-2-1929, Stephenson Co, Freeport Township Frederick H. Kaiser, d. 2-17-1928, Cook Co, Chicago Frederick William Kaiser d. 3. 21, 1932, St. Clair Co, Lenzberg. St. Clair is in South west corner of state at very botton. Close to Madison CO. You may want to try different counties to see what you come up with. Frederick may have married more than once, also. For Schnell, in the marriage index, there were many Schnell, Schnellbacker, Schnelle, and other combinations. This also applies to the death index. There were many Mary Kaiser's. One Mary Kaiser died in Quincy, but forgot to get it down. Signing off for the night. Hope this helps some. Shari

    1. [ILADAMS] William Williamson
    2. shari & chuck horton
    3. Received my grandfather's death certificate today. Unfortunately, My Uncle George Williamson, Bloomington, put William and his wife, Sarah Reynolds, in the place for name of parents. At the top, he listed married to Mrs. Anna Williamson. Actually, William Albert Williamson was married to Sarah Reynolds. The certificate only gave the state of IL as birth place. He was born on Sept. 15, 1860. I found a piece of paper that said he was born in Alton, Madison County, but can't find him there. I found a Williamson family in the 1860 Adams County census, only the William was living with brothers and a niece. My question is would anyone out there be able to tell me who Anna Williamson was married to. I don't know if there were any other siblings. I think it possible that Anna divorced. William died May 20, 1919 in Bloomington. Thanks for any help. Shari
