George stayed in the area I found Daniel in Richfeild Twp. 1870 with their mother Christina Kenedy. I think their brother John stayed in NC and thrie brother Mordecai was in Adams county also in 1845. This is a tuff family to follow. The Adams county Library has some deed records for William from when he lived there if you are interested. Have you researched William's family much?

Sarah and William Kenedy, their family and Sarah Richardson went to the Willamette Valley in 1852. Sarah Richardson died in 1856 and is buried in Bethel Cemetery, Polk County, Oregon, aged 80. They were tough, those Oregon Trail women!

Hi everyone, I think this may sound stupid, but how do I access the 1850 Adams Co. census index? I've done this before at the Adams Co. GenWeb site, but now I get a page sending me to rootsweb, and I can't seem to find the index. I'm sure the names I'm looking for will jump out at me if I can only read thru the index. My gg-grandfather, Dr. Samuel Thompson (8 Mar 1798 PA - 10 Mar 1879 Ralls Co, MO) married Cynthia Hewit (1798 NY - 1850 Adams Co, IL) on 27 Oct 1817 in Athens Co, OH. They came to Adams Co. in 1833 with 6 children and had 2 more before her death. Does my Cynthia share any common ground with your Hewitt line? It was good to see a Hewitt request in Adams County. James Oliver Hewitt was born Jan. 1856 in Illinois. I find one who fits his description in 1880 census listed as a "nephew " living at the Lewis Coder home. I have a photo of the Hewitts, unidentified (naturally) except for the 6 month old child who was designated to be James Oliver Hewitt. There was another child in the photo who was probably 2 or 3 years of age. James was left an orphan at an early age. I would like to hear from you.
