Surnames: HERNDON, CHISOM Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/Wg.2ADE/3986 Message Board Post: I would like to talk with anyone who has information regarding the William HERNDON family of Quincy, Adams Co., IL. William (b. between 1792-1795) married Mahala (Chisom) Thomas on 3 August 1846 in Meade Co., KY. The family migrated from Kentucky through Hannibal City, Marion Co., MO (1860), Camp Point, Adams Co., IL (1862) and settled in Quincy by 1876 where William Herndon died. According to the 1860 census, William and Mahala had at least four children; Rhoda (1849), Mary C. (1852), Jacob B. (12 April 1853), and Isabelle (1856). I would like to know what happened to Mahala and the children (who they married)...and where William is buried.

I do not know if anyone else is having trouble with scam artists and some spam coming through on your lists, but I am. I just received on of those Nigeria, Ivory Coast, etc, mailing about I will give you a portion of $25,000,000 if you help me get my dead grandfather's money out of here. There is an address that the Federal Trade Commission has put out for these. When you get one, just click your "forward." Send to uce@ftc.gov. I do this everytime, and have found I get less and less. People have actually fallen into their trap, sent or went to these places, and was robbed and beaten, and no money to get home on. Gov't is after them. So please send these kind of things on to the FTC. When you open your list mail, when you go to forward this stuff, you might see this list as an addy for them. I did!! Shari Sorry to post this here, but people put out info on these sites, so please be careful. I know one of the Ky lists is having trouble as their administrator put out word on it. I sent her the FTC address for this.

I'm looking for a John A. MEYER purchasing land between 1847 and 1849. If that is too large of a search, I know Adams Co. also lists the history of each piece of property by address. He may be found at 179 State St. (where I think he lived in 1866). In advance...Thank You so much!

My Mom asked me to ask if anyone has information on a W. S. McMurry M. M. (which I think must be Methodist Minister)? He would have been in Adams Co. in the mid 1800s. Also around that same time we are wondering if there are any funeral records for Ellington Township?
