I am actually descended from his brother Louis (Ludivicus) Walter Stolte. Anton was born 9 Jan 1863 in Burton, IL. He died 18 June 1940 and was buried in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hannibal, MO. He married (1) Ella ROGERS and they had at least one son, Henry A. STOLTE, 1888-1966. Abt 1897 he married (2) Georgia A. MILLER, 1876-1947. I am not aware of any offspring from this union. I have no information on Georgia other than her name, the dates I've given here and that she appears in the 1900 Levee Township census. Any information you may have or come across would be most welcome. Thanks! Rhonda

Surnames: Reed Schmitt Amen Gruber Kelly Brennan Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/Wg.2ADE/4574.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Hi Candy, Been doing some more research on Schmitt. It appears my Margaret (Maggie, Margaretha as she was called at various times) must be some relation to yours but not the exact same. Found out her father George L. Schmitt owned a Saloon at 105 Hampshire Street for some time in the 1860's & 70's. Her mother's name was "Eva" as listed in the 1860 Census. Siblings include Lizzie, Adam, Dina, Edith, Georgia. "Maggie" married Marcellus Reed in 1881. Marcellus ended up working for Miller & Arthur Drug Company after his "Reed & Burton" Confectionary House burned in 1880. George Miller was one of the owners of Miller & Arthur and he had married a "Margaret Schmitt" Daughter of prominent Quincy businessman "Adam Schmitt". I'm guessing this Adam must have been a relative to my Margaret, Maggie, etc. in some fashion. That's about it for now. Research continues. Thanks. Scott

    3. I am an Akers and my great grandfather, Andrew Jackson Akers, was born in Adams Co., IL. The son of William and Ann Sammons Akers. On the 1850 census, there is a William in the household. The oldest born about 1832 in Ohio. I have not done much work on him. I feel however that he is a son of William by a former unknown wife. There is a marriage on Oct. 21, 1852 of a William Akers to Sarah Sammons. In the little amount of research I have done there are a number of middle initials. H, N, W and B. I can't believe there were that many William Akers in Adams Co. in 1850 :-) However anything is possible. I have been away from my genealogy for some time now and will have to look up what I have on him and check my sources. If this sounds like what you are looking for and are interested, I will be glad to share with you.
