Do you have a DOB for Roy V. Flick ?
My sister-in-law was Donna Jean Flick. Her parents are Lewis and Gertrude Flick from Liberty. Lewis and Gertrude have five children: Gerald lives in St. Charles, Missouri, Donna and Frank Jr. Voss live between Fowler and Mendon, Darlene (Wietholder) live in Mendon, Carl lives in Mendon, and Karen (Crossland) lives in ?. I am Sister Janet J. Voss, a daughter of Frank H. and Afnes E. Frese Voss. Try the Freiburg funeral home book from the Great River Genealogical Society. It may have listed a Flick in it. I do not have the book with me at the present time nor the obituary for Lewis. I will look it up in my information. Leqwis had a brother Ambrose and most of the Flick's are buried in St. Brigid's Catholic Cemetery in Liberty, Illinois. I will show the e-mail to Donna and see if she has heard or know's anything about Roy. Sister Janet J. Flick I am hunting for anything that I can find on a Quincy resident who vanished in 1920. He was my Grandfather Roy V. Flick. At one time he was a policeman at Quincy. He was put in the workhouse for non-support of his children. He then abandoned them, and was apparently married to two or three women at the same time. Someone told us he drowned in the Mississippi River in the late 30's or early 40's. We can find no record of that anywhere. Is there a kind soul out there who could suggest how we might find some record of him? He susposedly was a foundry worker. Does anyone know of a foundry at Quincy where he may have worked? He was not a shining example of a good human I know, but yet I'd like to find out what may have come of him before I die. Eddy A. Eddy-- I am so glad to see your posting here! I continue to watch for anything to do with your Roy and my Sarah Hickerson. One of these days something will turn up. Keep the faith. Diane in MO (great grand niece of Sallie Hickerson Kinney Flick)
Hello all - I would like to make contact with someone from the Lefringhouse (and various spellings) family - someone had kindly responded a year ago but I have lost their e-mail address. I am specifically interested in a John Liveringhouse (that is the way it is spelled in his obituary) - a farmer who was killed by a team of horses on his farm in 1895. I would like to know any information about him, his parents, wife, according to the obituary he had 5 sons - would anyone know their names and what happened to them? I do have some information about this family and would be glad to share whatever I have, Thank you for any help- Ahlive

Roberta, & list, Did your Lewis Thompson have any connection with a Margaret Thompson who married Thomas Evans 1822 in Bath Co. KY. He died about 1833. Margaret Thompson Evans moved from Indiana to Adams Co with her family in 1849 buying land from William M. Bird and his wife Louisa. Margaret with children Joseph Milton Evans, John Harvey Evans, Thomas Evans and James Perry Evans lived next door to her daughter Sarah and Lewis D. Shaffer in Gilmer twp. Another daughter Sophronia married James Job and they moved to Lane Co., Oregon. Any help on this family would be greatly appreciated. Donna in Oregon [email protected]
Never a problem with me. Lost a sister and a aunt this past year, went to three marriages, five birthday parties, (grandchildren), four parties, (Children of ours), and many things to do around the house, has been a very busy summer. Just had returned to checking messages that were posted previously and guess mind is slipping with age and couldn't remember if I had thanked everyone that had been helping me. Had a interesting conversation with a neice living north of Quincy about eight months ago and sent her all available information on her line, attached to mine by marriage, still awaiting information on my uncle and aunt to no avail. Sometimes that happens. Sent information to Flordia to a person who had married into the line of Mahairs, and as luck would have it got a bundle of information to sift thru. Win some lose some. Did hear you had family things you were busy with, my thank you did not mean I was trying to push you into anything. Just another thank you. There are several named Frederick Wilhelm.. the one born in 1832 learned stonecutting with WendelinWeber . There is good information in genealogy section of Quincy library but I haven't had a chance to visit Quincy for a few years to research further. I think the first of my relatives to immigrate from Herford (,Westfalen , Prussia ) was Hermann Heinrich Menke in the very early 1800's. but I haven't been able to find the family in or near Herford. Actually There are too many Menkes for me to be able for me to even venture a guess as to which are related to the Quincy families. Always too many named Frederick, Heinrich, Wilhelm , or Johann everywhere.

Thanks for getting back to me. Your Thompson line is different than mine. Our Thompson was Lewis and Amelia Owens Thompson and they had a son William who lived around Quincy. Roberta Summers
My husband's line is from John Lees & Margaret Purdy Neal Lees Thompson McAnulty. She was obviously married a lot! John & Margaret had 6 children; their daughter Mary Jane was DH's g.grandmother. The Thompson name comes from Margaret's 3rd husband, Hiram Thompson. They had 2 sons, James & Hiram. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, October 24, 2006 2:09 PM Subject: Re: [ILADAMS] Lees/Thompson families > I saw your surname list of Lees & Thompson and was wondering what Thompson > you are related too? > Roberta Summers > > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to [email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message

I'm hoping to find some of her Lees or Thompson descendants that might have more info. Would also like to find more on her 2nd husband, John Lees. I've been to both of their gravesites; altho' Margaret had 4 husbands, she's buried with husband #3.
I saw your surname list of Lees & Thompson and was wondering what Thompson you are related too? Roberta Summers
