His Social Security record shows death in 1973 with last residence being in Quincy, IL. This man is elusive for me...the brother of my grandfather John Harrison Eads, whom I do know quite a bit about descendants of, but whom I can't find out when/where, or how John died, or where he is buried. As for Clarence, the only info. I have is a copy of his application for a Social Security card, and a notation that his draft registration card for WWI showed his residence as Natrona Co., WY. Would love to know if Clarence married, had descendants, etc....and would love to meet living descendants if there are any out there! Will share what Eads info I have (lots on other of the Eads clan).

On board also were several of Angela's siblings, and Father August Brickwidde. I have a copy of the passenger list, and I'm afraid I don't find a Sander on it, however, it is difficult to read, so perhaps you will be able to spot the name more readily than was I. Here's a link to the passenger list: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~ourroots/immigration.html It does include some other names that I've come across doing research on Quincy's early settlers.
I ask Donna last week end and she did not put the two together. I would do further looking at St. Brigid's and get the obituaries from probably the Quincy Herald Whig which is on microfilm at the public library in Quincy. Since the pastor is going back to India, I am not sure who to tell you to contact at St. Brigid's or in the parish for back records. Sister Janet J. As the KALTENBACK branch is the one that ties to my (STOLTE) family, I don't have any further information on the FLICK line. Sadie's parents were buried at St. Brigid, so that adds to the connection. Would be interesting to know if Albert was related to Roy. I'll look forward to any additional information! Hi, Seekers! Have you tried searching for a variation in the spelling of GOVEY - perhaps the 'Y' was 'dropped' or changed to GOVEN, or the or the 'V' changed to GOYEN. This often happened in a census or legal papers. This usually happened because whoever was doing the writing would write down what was heard in pronounciation, and not all of our ancestors could spell or read. No dates, at all, were given - that is important - even in a 'blind request'. Even submitting approximate dates can help. You might try the Quincy Public Library or the Historical Society in Quincy. To find out more, including addresses - I suggest you use the www.usgenweb.com to locate the State of Illinois, and Adams Co. - or any other state, location within the U.S. Try searching the State of Illinois Archives: marriages and other good data may be obtained there. Just use any Sarch Engine and plug in the name ---- using a Search Engine with just the surname may find you websites to search/surf. Good Searching - Good Luck! Shirley: [email protected]

My grandfather was Fred Temple Mellinger born in Dayton, Oregon in 1891and my father, James Francis Mellinger was born in Dayton, Oregon in 1915. My grandfather was your grandmother's brother. I remember hearing my grandfather speak of his sister and my dad talk about Aunt Ora. Were you ever in Dayton to visit? My folks are both now buried in the Dayton IOOF cemetery along with the rest of the family. I/we currently live in Williams, Oregon just about 41 miles from the California border and about 18 miles South of Grants Pass, Oregon. I look forward to sharing information - my e-mail is [email protected] I am also trying to establish communication with Verna Mellinger whom I have found on RootsWeb also...however, the posting is now 3 years old and don't know if I can reach her at the given e-mail or not, but will try.
