Thanks for passing that on. I appreciate all your help. I will check out my Illinois map and find Mound City. I also will check out the website on Mary E. Veach then use my good judgement as to whether it is my Mary. I did go to the Illinois statewide archives and found a great deal of information as I also have roots on my mother's side in Quincy and Adams County. The Veach's were my husband's lineage. Thanks again and if you find anything else that pertains to this family please let me know. Happy Valentine's Day.

Mary E. Veach was listed 3 times, Adams County. It is possible that she was married 3 times. But I don't know. I was confused with that. I thought maybe you could see and write it all down to verify. I am not researching this family name, just helping and I thought you could look for more on this website to try and verify all this. Hope it helped.

Mound City is all the way down at the Southern part of Illinois. Almost at the river. It is Southwest of or in Pulaski County. I noticed also there is also Mounty City National Cemetery there. Maybe somehow you could check that out. I don't know how to do that. So it is way at the bottom of Illinois. If you need anything else let me know. Did you find a lot on that website? I will keep looking for you...

Veach... Illinois Civil War Detail Report He joined Aug 27,1861 at 19 yrs old and died from wounds received at Shiloh Tenn April 25, 1862. Go to illinois statewide archives and scroll down to civil war muster in and out. You will be able to copy the report and there is also deaths and marriages on that web page. Veach from Adams County,ILL marrying in 1864,1871, 1879. I don't know if this is the same person. But it seems to be. Let me know if you want this info. I also found: Amelia Buffington married Perry Frame 1/22/1862 Adams Cty Richard Buffington married Sarah Higley 2/28/1875 Adams Cty. Martha Buffington married Henry Diehl 3/13/1866 Adams Cty So I guess if Jacob Buffington married Jelico Veach in 1856 the first 5 children are his. Ellen and James Veach in the 1860 census are hers.Then in 1870 James is listed as Wiley.. The only Ellen Veach I can find marrying was in 1884. Ellen Veach married Francis B. Shields 3/12/1884 Volume D Page 99 License # 4410 Vermilion County,ILL Let me know what you think. I will still try and look for the children.
