Yes, perhaps the children are adopted, foster children or even relatives of hers but not her own children. ----- Original Message ----- From: <PMitch2907@aol.com> To: <IL-SOUTHERN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, June 27, 2001 6:43 PM Subject: Re: [IL-SOUTHERN] can someone answer this question? : prehaps these grandchildren are not hers but children of others. : :

    1. [IL-SOUTHERN] can someone please answer this question
    2. Ok, you all have made great sense out of this. I must be spending to much time looking for an answer on this family line. I think I will take a break and move on to another family member and then come back. I was told that Bathsheba Milford was the mother of Lilly Mae Keifer . But no marriage is recorded for Keifer to a Milford. And Lilly Mae Keifer was born in 1880. argggg! 3. I looked at census dated June 16th 1880,, possible yes, probable not really. They are the grandchildren of John Milford, yes. Bathsheba is listed as single and having attended school within census year( col 21). She would have been 14 when George GUNTER was born, Leland KEEFER was 4 months so she would be pregnant during school. I do not belive that a pregnant unwed/single girl would have been permitted to attend school in 1880. Have you checked out,, http://www.ilsos.net/departments/archives/databases.html Good Luck Kent ----- Original Message ----- From: <ADib102684@aol.com> To: <IL-SOUTHERN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, June 27, 2001 2:13 PM Subject: [IL-SOUTHERN] can someone answer this question? > Is it possible that in 1880 a girl would have 3 children from 3 different men > and never any of the men but give the children the fathers last name?
