    1. [IL-SOUTHERN] help with family line of CROSS/BROWN please
    2. Looking for the Cross family please. I have two other names on a marriage license for Sarah Cross (William's daughter) one of which might be a brother......but whom ever wrote it I think spelled it wrong or it is the strangest first name I have ever seen..... Gogan Cross and Maud Cross (probably his wife). I have looked it over and over and the it clearly is gogan. I thought it could be Logan. Please see what you can find with what information I do have that I know to be correct. Thank you for your help. Angie Husband: William CROSS Birth: .............................. 1. [IL-SOUTHERN] help with my family line please................
    2. Looking for the death date for Isaac Collins. He would have died in the year of 1889- bef Aug 1890 (my guess). I do not know if he served and died in the war or if he was a farmer and died of natural causes. At the time of his marriage to Sarah Cross, he was 39yrs old and she was 22yrs. I feel he may have been married once before her. Also his daughter died between 1890-1900. She was listed in the 1890 census but I dont think she was in the 1900 census (she would be listed under her step dad's name by this time). Please take a look at my family information and see if you can help me. Thank you for your time and help you may have to offer. All I know about him is that he married Sarah Howard Gosnell sometime after her husband died in 1896. He had been married before and had 2 children. I believe they would have lived in Williamson County I would appreciate any information you might have on this man. Thank you, Sharon Have a great day!!!

    2. Hi Nancy, Sounds like you've been taking a load for yourself, with getting things certified. I'm not skilled enough on the computer to tell you different but I certainly am not expecting certification of all my information sources, if that's what you mean. I've been at it almost 2 years now. It seems to me it matters what you you plan to do with the information. I'm writing a book on my HELTSLEY/MORRIS family so I want it as accurate as I can make it. In the end, reputation is going to make or break any researcher. In this business, I'm seeing there are very few 100 percent absolute facts. You do the best you can and cite your sources. Things should work out. Research is certainly easier with these computers, but they are a pain as well. I'm afraid I've sacrificed learning them for getting the information, in some other ways. Good luck, Ernie Heltsley

    2. Hi Ernie, Sorry to say I haven't heard of Tom. Lots of luck in your research. I'm searching STAATS, CHAPMAN, BAIRD, DENHAM, HAUSCH, O'BRIEN, SWANSON, GRIFFIN. I just began researching about a year ago from last March when I got my computer. Personally, I think it is very difficult. Getting everything certified and all. If you have any tips, would you share them with me? Again, good luck. Nancy

    2. Hi Nancy, I have a grandmother, Nan, Nannie, Nancy Bradshaw in Saline County (Eldorado) in about those times. No luck for me there, I guess. She married Thomas D. Morris in Eldorado 1893. So far, I have little about her folks. I'm still chasing Tom's. Have you heard of a present day guy perhaps on the list: Ed Oliver, of Carterville, near Marion? Like to talk with him. Thanks, Ernie Heltsley/Tucson/ex-S.Ill. res.

    2. Does anyone have any info on JAMES WATSON b. 1779 in VA. that moved to the Pendelton Dist. SC and later moved on to GA or AL? 1850 Washington County, IL census records show a JAMES WATTSON family #21 with Elizabeth age 46, George W. age 24, Mary age 18, Lurindy age 16, Eliza age 14, Elizabeth age 23. We are trying to find the parents of GEORGE WILEY WATSON 1824-1874. It appears that our Watsons may have come from the Pendelton Dist. SC and migrated to Southern, IL. circa 1851 and then on to St. Francois County, MO. We have all of the info from JOHN WILEY WATSON 1852-1909 on down to the present. Other surnames include: Murphy, Bequette, Pritchett, McBride, Hester, Mitchell, Moore, Crawford, Cartee, Herbst, Eaves, etc. Any info on these families will be greatly appreciated.
