My interest is in the PARKER, ALLEN, MARTIN, KIDD families in Alexander and Pulaski Co's. from about 1830. John Henry PARKER, MD. arrived about 1830 in Pulaski CO. being listed as an early settler. ~ Alexander ALLEN arrival unk. He and Louisa Parker Allen were on 1850 census of Pulaski CO. with John in the household. ~ Jefferson MARTIN KY1806 is believed to be the last child of Salathiel MARTIN. ~ Jefferson's wife Mary Ann KIDD KY doesn't show on 1850 Alexander CO. 1850 census but a Willy KIDD 20 IL is in the household. Any help with these families would be most appreciated. Betty TX

I am searching for the burial site of my gggrandparents John Henry Burd and Rebecca Ann Keeling Burd. I have been told by my father that they were buried in or around Anna Illinois in Union County and Rebecca is the only one who has a headstone. They had a son Eddlemond who is also buried next to them. Also I have been told John Henry had a farm around Ullin in Pulaski County so its possible they are buried in that area. James Burd

The Ancestry.com census records are only available to be viewed by paid subscribers. Some of the years you can search and others you can only browse but they are working on getting all years searchable. You need to have the MrSid plug in in order to view the census pages and it takes a while for the census to load. If your local library does not have the Illinois census find your closest LDS Library and they will either have it or will be able to get it for you. Judie in Florida judiegen@aol.com
hi, i agree with everything written below except the final year of operation was 1909, making it slightly over six years in operation, instead of 13 months... alot could've happened in those extra five years... for a listing of all the towns in every county you could visit Illinois Family History Research: Place Names of Each Illinois County happy hunting, dennis in reply to: In a message dated 2/4/02 5:01:39 PM Pacific Standard Time, IL-SOUTHERN-D-request@rootsweb.com writes: << X-Message: #2 Date: Mon, 4 Feb 2002 14:52:45 -0600 From: "Jon Musgrave" <jmusgrave@onecliq.net> To: IL-SOUTHERN-L@rootsweb.com Message-ID: <006f01c1adbe$256d5c00$43a8a541@jons> Subject: Re: [IL-SOUTHERN] Alrich IL ? The post office opened on Aug. 20, 1895 and discontinued operations on Dec. 15, 1902. Three months later it reopened on March 10, 1903 and lasted for another 13 months before closing for good on April 30, 1904. As of the 1950s, it was served RFD by the Wolf Creek post office. It was located on the Illinois Central Railroad and I'm assuming on the line that ran down in the Mississippi Bottoms, not the original line that ran through Jonesboro. Hi Everyone I'm looking for anything on Gipsy COPUS. She was born 10 August 1892 and died in March of 1975. At some point she moved to Tennessee and married Elijah GREEN(e) and moved back to Illinois around 1922 or 1923. I checked the Social Security Death Records index and it showed her state of birth to be Illinois with the card being issued in West Frankfort. Any information would be appreciated. She and Elijah had 6 or 7 children. One of them was my grandfather Delbert GREEN. Thanks Lyndsey Green Gattie
Has anyone ever heard of Alrich Illinois or a similar town? (early 1900's) Thanks for your help!

Hi all, Just a note to inform everyone that I've re-indexed the WebWide Surname Locator to contain hundreds of thousands more surnames. The idea behind the search engine is to help those of us who have ancestors with surnames which are also common English words such as BROWN, DAY, PARKS, and YOUNG. The URL is http://www.obitlinkspage.com/surnames/ Also, I've created PAST FACES which is a databank of old photos from all over. This can be found at http://www.geocities.com/pastfaces Hope these help, Bill Cribbs Obituary Central http://www.obitcentral.com Obituary Links Page http://www.obitlinkspage.com GenDirectory.com http://www.gendirectory.com WebWide Surname Locator http://www.obitlinkspage.com/surnames/ Past Faces http://www.geocities.com/pastfaces
