    1. [IL-SOUTHERN] Stokes family of Union and Pulaski County IL
    2. Dear Stokes family researchers, As many of you know I am tracking down a Thomas Stokes whom had a son with Amanda Cooper called Homer Stokes. Thomas was born about 1872/1873 in Union or Pulaski County, IL and Amanda/Amada Cooper was born about 1873 Union County IL. Homer was born on Feb 27 1893. However, I can not find the family living to together at ALL in Illinois....not any where. There is a Thomas J. Stokes who married Maggie Estella Sickling in Pulaski Co on 9/10/1896. His wife Stella would be Maggie Estella and Amanda Cooper who married John Orrell 7/04/1893 (thanks Andy for your help on those). Below is what another person sent me. Please if anyone has a Thomas born about the time of my Thomas or can do a check for me............please let me know. My Louis Jones Stokes tree is growing rapidly and still no sign of a Thomas that I am tracking.........:( Angie Pulaski County Courhouse Records May 5th, 1902. William R. Stokes, 4th child to this mother, - w - M. DOB May 2, 1902. POB: Pulaski. Nation of Father & POB: KY. Age 61. Nat. and POB Mother, IL. Fullname of mother, Emma J. Stokes, Maiden Emma J. Oliver. Full name of Father: William H. A. Stokes, Farmer. B. A. Ryall, medical attendent, Villa Ridge.

    1. [IL-SOUTHERN] Buntin
    2. Searching for any information on the Buntin family that lived in or near Herrin, IL. between 1916 and 1931. I know that my grandparents lived there for several years, as my father and one aunt were born there. My grandparents were John Samuel Buntin and Maude Mae Smith. They were married in Salem, Saline County, IL. on June 17, 1915. My aunt was Dolores Buntin born in Herrin, IL. in 1922. Died in 1923. Buried in cemetery in Herrin, IL. My father was Thomas Wayne Buntin, born in Herrin, IL. in 1926. Looking for the births of one uncle, Robert Eugene Buntin who was born in 1916 and an aunt, Drusilla A. Buntin born in 1918. Have no idea if they were born in Herrin or some other IL. County. Or even if they were born in IL. at all. Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks. C.Buntin

    1. [IL-SOUTHERN] help on relation....Stokes family......2nd question.
    2. In my last email, I showed a short family tree to everyone on the list which included the Louis Jones Stokes family line as I had it. I want to thank all you whom sent me email helping me with his line. I wanted to pick at your brains again. Andy, one of our list memebers, has given me some really great ideas and leads. In searching the census again, I found this: 1900 Census, page 327A Union County Stokes Prc. Thomas J. Stokes born Jan 1861 (age 35) Married to a Mandy born Oct 1855 (age 40) 3 children born to Mandy, 2 listed as living Silas born Aug 1885 George born Dec 1886 I think that Mandy could be my Amada Cooper I am looking for and my Thomas I am looking for. But if Homer was their child and he was alive because he married and had children, then why would he not be listed as a living child? And why wasnt he in the same house? Homer was born in 1893. It doesnt make sense to me. He has Birdie Stokes Miller listed as his aunt on his birth record. She is the child of Daniel Morgan Stokes who is the son of Morgan Stokes and he is the son of Jones Stokes. I still can not tie them all together. And note that Birdie, being listed as Homers aunt, is only 1 1/2yrs apart in age. What do you all think? Angie Family tree 1. Thomas STOKES. Son of ? STOKES. He married Amada COOPER, daughter of James M COOPER & Anna Eliza Mae CHAPMAN DANIELS. They had the following children: 2 i. Homer STOKES Second Generation 2. Homer STOKES. His information was signed by his AUNT BIRDIE STOKES MILLER. To me that means that Birdie and Thomas are brother and sister. But Thomas Stokes was born about 1872 and Birdie was born in 1891. Birdie's parents did not marry until 1886. So Thomas and Birdie can not be brother and sister. However, thomas was not listed on the 1880 census with the family of Morgan Stokes. Got any ideas?
