I am so sorry... I was trying to use it to mark the page for me and forgot to remove it. I didn't realize that it would be so irritating, let alone show up. Just wanted a new home page and I hate to run through all the bookmarks and favorites to find the Wmson county page. BUT it is gone, no more, nada, zip... I have added a few more surnames and have a wonderful suggestion for a new gadget for the gadget page. Just have to locate it. It is a bithdate from the info on the headstone...if it says June 14, 1973 94 years, 3 months, 5 days, you can enter that information and it will give you the date of birth and day of the week. Thanks, Brenda. Yikes! It is after midnight and I have to be up at 5... Thanks all, Ann, Williamson County, IL <http://www.rootsweb.com/~ilwillia>
Good morning, There is a new page on the Williamson County, IL website <http://www.rootsweb.com/~ilwillia> which gives the day of the week on which a certain date occurred. You can tell if Great Aunt Ethel was born on a Monday. Was she "fair of face"? Other ages have been updated If you have any suggestions for "gadgets" which you would like to see placed on a web page together (so you won't have to go gallavantin' around), let me know. The forum continues to be down but, be patient. Kristie and all are working on it and plan to have it operational by the weekend. Happy Huntin' Ann
Hi, Thanks for the newspaper leads and other info. The Mann name I have is Mala Rae Mann b. about 1961. She has a twin named Vala. Mala married Douglas Dale Bailey about 1981. They have one child, Kellie Rae Bailey. Thanks, Steve Strickland
Hello Steve, Which Mann family is this ? My Mann family was from Williamson County, IL. Or, What first name's are we looking for in the Bailey family ? Thank you, Tonia On Mon, 2 Sep 2002 12:28:23 EDT BSHWKR1@aol.com writes: > Hi, > > We think they were married in Williamson County but are not sure. > How long > do you have to wait before marriage liscenses are public domain? > > Thank you, > Steve > >
Steve, I'm not exactly sure, but somewhere between 75 to 100 years, I think. At that point its a pretty safe bet that both parties are deceased. The Illinois State Marriage database only goes to 1900. Have you check the Williamson county newpaper archives online? This is the best site for finding online newspapers in the county: http://www.onlinenewspapers.com/usillino.htm The Marion newspaper archived don't go very far back, but you might take a chance and check the Harrisburg Daily Register (close to Williamson County) www.dailyregister.com They have great archives. Also several of the Illinois newspapers are on microfilm, but I'm not sure if the microfilm is available out of state or not. You could call your local library and find out if they could get them.
Hi, We think they were married in Williamson County but are not sure. How long do you have to wait before marriage liscenses are public domain? Thank you, Steve
Steve, What county are you looking in? It is a fairly recent marriage. I doubt that you can get the information from the state due to privacy laws. If you know what county/town, perhaps you can find it in the newspaper.
Hello List, I'm trying to find a marriage record for Douglas Dale Bailey and Mala Rae Mann. They married about 1982. Is there a data base I can access or must I go to IL state records to request a copy? If I must go to IL state records, is there a link some kind soul could post for me? Thanks is advance, Steve Strickland
Thanks for the info. God Bless!
There is a link on the pages for requesting copies. The site link for deaths is http://www.cyberdriveillinois.com/departments/archives/genealogy/forms/idphdea thsrch.html Other searches can be found at the top under databases.
Could someone please give me the email address for requesting death/marriage certificates? Thanks, Nancy
I requested death certificates in early March and received them in the beginning of August. Shortly after that it seems like all the Root-L lines posted about the index online. I would suggest that if you haven't received your request in 8 months time to request them again.
I sent for 2 in May and rec'd them a week or so ago - As we all know, they have been swamped with requests. Hang in there and happy hunting. The complete Williamson County, IL death index for the IDPH Archives is now complete and on the Williamson County website. A very special thank you is sent to Buck Childers who made it available. Because it is 21,000+ names, even though it is broken down alphabetically, it does take time to load. My speed is at 28, 600 and it takes about 45 seconds to load the A's (I need DSL or Broadband or, better yet, a satellite hookup, please Santa?). So be patient, it is worth the wait because you can check for alternate and misspelled names within the county list. <http://www.rootsweb.com/~ilwillia> (remembered it this time) Ann
