In Alton the Telegraph began in March 1836 and ran thru March 1841. The name then changed to Telegraph & Democratic Review in 1841 followed by Telegraph, My Democratic Review in 1850; Telegraph & Madison County Record in 1853; then finally back to Telegraph in 1861. You can order copies of the microfilm thru inter-library loan from your local library or you can view them in person at the Illinois State Historical Library in Springfield IL.
