Edwards Article Text: Lois M. Edwards Clark-Bryan, 85, of Rosewood Care, East Peoria, died Wednesday night at 10:15 p.m., January 30, 2008, at the Care Center where she had lived for the past three years. She was born May 8, 1922 in Pike County to Arthur J. and Ida Faye Woodward Edwards in New Salem. Lois was educated and graduated from the New Salem High School and was a member at the Methodist Church in New Salem. She married Ellsworth "Bud" Clark of Griggsville and Alton in 1941. Two children from this union; Jack L. Clark and a daughter Sharon Kay Clark (Hobbs) Shepard. May 25, 1943 "Bud" was in a truck/car accident in which he was killed. Jack turned one July 20th and Kay was born July 23, 1943. In 1952 Lois married William J. Bryan in Peoria. He died Jan. 18, 2005. Lois worked at various restaurants for 25 years as a waitress, After her marriage to James Bryan; Jack remained living with his paternal grandparents. In earlier times Lois and Jim loved to go fishing, they had a spot out side of St. David, IL where they loved to go. On their vacations they would go to Minnesota and Wisconsin to fish. Preceding her in death are her parents, three sisters, Vivian O'Donnell, Carolyn Claus, Jeannie Hildreth and one brother Bob Edwards. Lois leaves one brother, Glen Edwards of Mt. Sterling; her children, Jack (Peggy) Clark of Old Hickory, Tenn; Kay (Kent) Shepard of Chambersburg; and one step-sister Betty June Bryan (Ernie) Rech of East Peoria; eight grandchildren, LeAn Woeiner of Texas, Rene Clark of St. Louis, Mo and Tony Clark of Atlanta, Ga., Kevin (Kathy) Shepard of Waverly, Kim (Todd) Shelly of Springfield, Kris (Rebecca)Shepard of Albuquerque, NM and Kory of Macomb and step-grandson; Artie Lovell of Iowa; seven great-grand-children. Several nieces and nephews survive. Services were held Monday, Feb. 4 with visitation one hour prior to services. Sister Rosa Madonna officiated at the service. Lois loved her and they had a wonderful friendship from when Lois was at St. Joseph Home. The whole family loves Sister Rosa Madonna and she made everything tolerable. Burial was in the Swan Lake Memory Garden in Peoria beside her husband, Jim. The Valley Funeral and Cremation service, 201 N. MacArthur Highway, in Peoria.
