Article Text: Margaret A. Griffith, 80, of Barry died Monday, Feb. 18, 2008, at her home in Barry. Mrs. Griffith was born Sept. 14, 1927 in Bowling Green Mo. to Willis and Caroline Feldman Jamison. She married LaVern D. Griffith Aug. 10, 1947 in Missouri and he preceded her in death June 4, 1984. Margaret was a homemaker and enjoyed her quilting and crocheting and also gardening and canning. Survivors include two sons, Richard 'Rick' (wife Cathy) Griffith of Barry and Robert (wife Billie) Griffith of Byrdstown Tenn.; three daughters, Carolina (husband Ron) Swallow of Homosassa, Fla., Jane (husband Rick) Sheridan of Niles and Helen (husband John) Nelson of Chesterton Ind.; a daughter-in-law, Mary Griffith of Barry; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband LaVern D., a son Donald 'Bill' Griffith, 1 brother Lester Jamison and a sister Edith Kelly. Services will be held today, Wednesday, Feb.20, at 10 a.m. at the Niebur Funeral Chapel in Barry with the Rev. Kent Hillesland officiating. Burial will be at the Fairview Cemetery at Louisiana Mo. Visitation was held Tuesday evening from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Niebur Funeral Chapel in Barry. Memorials may be left to the Blessing Hospice of Pike County, The Barry Fire Dept, or the Barry American Legion Post #222. There will be a luncheon for family and friends at the Barry American Legion following the service.
