Article Text: Edward U. Webb, 80, of Belleview, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008, in his sister's home in Peasant Hill. He was born Sept. 26, 1927 in Calhoun County to Marvin and Freeda Lee Wright Webb. He married Alberta M. (DeGerlia) Webb Jan. 28, 1946, in Hamburg. She died June 28, 1982. Mr. Webb was a timberman and operated a sawmill for many years. He was a member of Belleview Community Evangelical Church in Belleview, a trustee for Belleview Community Evangelical Church and board member of the Long Cemetery Association. His survivors include one sister, Corda Lee Hagen (husband Joe) Suhling of Pleasant Hill; two nieces, Tambra (husband Jim) Stewart of Springfield and Melody (husband Larry) Clark of Fulton, Mo.; one nephew, JErry (wife Brenda) Cress of rural Nebo; three great-neices, Ashley Stewart, Jennifer (husband Ben) VanDyne and Jill (husband Tony) Taylot; one great-nephew, Matthew (wife Adria) Clark; two great-great- nieces, Amber LIppincott and Avery Clark; and one great-great nephew, Bowman Taylor. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; an infant daughter, a sister, Eldena Cress and two brothers-in-law, Gordon Hagen and Ernest Cress. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 4 in Belleview Community Evangelical Church in Belleview conducted by Bro. Norman Fenton and Bro. Richard Comer. Burial was in Long Cemetery in rural Pleasant Hill. Visitation was held from 3-7 p.m. Sunday in the Lummis Funeral Home in Pleasant Hill and one hour prior to the services Monday in the church. Memorials are suggested to the Long Cemetery Association or Blessing Hospice of Pike County.
