Article Text: Lucile S. Hoffman, 95, died Monday, Feb. 4, 2008, at the Liberty Village in Pittsfield. She was born Feb. 23, 1912 in Detroit to Emmett and Ava Williams Sneeden. She married William Williamson in 1934 and he preceded her in 1954 and they owned and operated a bakery in Pittsfield. Later she marred Joe Hoffman in 1968 and he preceded her in death in 1982. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Pittsfield and was a member of the Bethany Circle and enjoyed playing bridge. She worked as a secretary and when she lived in Springfield she worked for the State of Illinois as a secretary in the Mental Health Dept. Survivors include one daughter, Greta (Paul) Snow of Houston, Texas; two stepdaughters, Jodi (John) Gosse, Flossmore and Carolyn (Wendell) Manka, Riverton, Wis.; grandchildren, Jane (Paul) Rodgers, Wharton, Texas, Carolyn Rynda, Dana Point, Calif., Anne LeBrun, Mesa, Ariz, Susan (Phillip) Hagen, Rose Hill, Kan., Kathy (Bruce) Watson, Vatesville, Ga., Patrick (Kay) Snow, Ft. Bel Voir, Va., Barbara Johnson, Houston, Texas, Michael (Kelly) Snow, Ft. Hood, Texas and Ellen (Charles) Schutz, Mansfield, Texas; five step grandchildren David Gosse of Chicago, Nathan Gosse San Francisco, Calif., Joe Gosse, Cary, N.C., Julia (Todd) Mass Edmonds, Was. and Torrey (Scott) Carls, Seattle, Wa.; 27 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; and nephew, Emmett Bagent of Pittsfield. She was preceded by her first husband, William Williamson; two sisters, Gladys Bagent and Helen Ervin; and a son-in-law, William Ducey; and her second husband, Joe Hoffman. Funeral services were Thursday, Feb. 7, at 11 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Pittsfield and Michael Ten Eyck officiating. Burial was at the West Cemetery in Pittsfield. Visitation was held Thursday, Feb. 7 at 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Pittsfield. Memorial is to the First Christian Church in Pittsfield. The family of Gladys S. Hoffman is being handled by the Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield.
