Feb. 7, 1860 and died at the home of his nephew, Mr. Bert Seargent, in Sumner Township, April 14, 1911, aged 51 years, 2 months, and 7 days. He was sick but a few days with pneumonia. In 1863 he came with his parents to Sumner township, Ill., and had made his home in that vicinity since that time. He leaves to mourn his loss two sisters and four brothers and many other relatives and many friends. The deceased was a farmer and lived a simple life and never married. For the past five years he had made his home with his nephew, and seldom went away from the farm but was content to stay at home with his little grand niece and nephews to who he became much attached. He was always kind and cheerful and will be sadly missed from the home circle. The funeral was held at the home on Monday April 17 at 10 o’clock conducted by Rev J E Connor of the M E Church. The remains were laid to rest in Elwood Cemetery East of Manteno. The floral offerings from friends and relatives were beautiful, giving a mute testimony of the high esteem in which the deceased was held. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ IL-Old-News ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ NewspaperAbstracts.com - Finding our ancestors in the news!
