Article Text: Chester, Ill., March 16.---About a year ago a man known as "Curley" MAXWELL, stole property to the amount of $27 from James SMITH, in this city. To-day in the Circuit Court, the jury found him guilty and placed the penalty at five years in the prison. This was a great surprise to the prisoner, who expected but one year.
