Article Text: Helen M. Robinson, 79, of Griggsville died Friday, Jan. 25, 2008, at her residence in Griggsville. She was born Feb. 7, 1928, in Pittsfield, to Jesse Hamer and Coy Emily Doyle Chaplin. She married James E. "Jack" Robinson June 14, 1944, in Winchester, and he survives. Mrs. Robinson was employed at the Mills Bakery in Pittsfield; the Singing Hills and Ke-La-Su at Florence; the Perry Wagon Wheel in Perry and the Dari-Delite in Detroit where she made homemade pies. In her childhood she attended the Milton Methodist Church and she was baptized at the Detroit Christian Church. She made quilts for her grandchildren, great grandchildren, neighbors and friends. She enjoyed family get togethers on Father's Days, Birthdays, the annual Chaplin Thanksgiving dinner, reunions (Robinson and Chaplin) in August. She loved her flower garden, canning her vegetables, keeping a diary, going to basketball games and her grandson's tennis matches. She also loved cooking for her family. Survivors include her husband, Jack Robinson of Griggsville; two sons, Tom (Debbie) Robinson of Pittsfield and Gary Robinson of Griggsville; two daughters, Mrs. Wanda Kay Robinson of Griggsville and Mrs. Jeanne (Jim) French of Munster, Ind.; four brothers, Billy Joe Chaplin (Carol) Chaplin of Hannibal, Mo., Lyndle Gene (Dee) Chaplin of Kinderhook, Jesse Dale (Judy) Chaplin of Plainville and Danny K. (Peggy) Chaplin of St. Charles, Mo.; five sisters, Mrs. Wanda Mae (Milo) Smith of Pittsfield, Mrs. Bernice (Buster) Klinefelter of Pittsfield, Mrs. Jenny Helms (friend, Dick Hayes) of Doniphan, Mo., Mrs. Karen (Bruce) Fowler of Pittsfield and Mrs. Grace Ann (Max) Coppess of Stanwood, Iowa; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one step great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a brother, Hamer Chaplin in 2005. Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 28, at 10 a.m. at the Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield with Brother Jerry Edison officiating. Burial was at the Bethel Cemetery near Griggsville, . A dinner will be held after the services at the Detroit Town Hall, Detroit. Visitation was held Sunday, Jan. 27, from 4 p.m. until 8 P.M. at the Niebur Funeral Home, Pittsfield. Memorials are suggested to the Bethel Cemetery or to the Detroit Town Hall.
