Touchette, Sr., 52, of New Canton, Ill., formerly of Cahokia, Ill., born on July 14, 1955, in East St. Louis, Ill., died on Saturday, July 12, 2008, at Hannibal Regional Hospital, Hannibal, Mo. Mr. Touchette was the former Highway Commissioner of Centreville Township for 27 years. He was a member of Local 100 of East St. Louis, Ill. George enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer Touchette, Sr.; and his brother, Joseph Touchette. Surviving are his wife, Patricia, nee Ottwell, Touchette; his son, George (Amanda Rodney) Touchette, Jr., of Millstadt, Ill.; his granddaughter, Skylar Touchette of Millstadt, Ill.; his mother, Rosemary, nee Weber, Touchette of Belleville, Ill.; his two brothers, Elmer Touchette Jr., of Cahokia, Ill., and Dr. John (Shirley) Touchette of Millstadt, Ill.; his four sisters, Mary (Dave) Stroot of Belleville, Ill., Patty Wolf and Barb (Ron) Ballard, both of St. Louis, Mo., and Carol (Billy) Orf of Bowling Green, Mo.; his sister-in-law, Carolyn, nee Orf, Touchette of Greenville, Ill.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to the Educational Fund for Skylar Touchette, c/o Bank of Edwardsville, 330 West Vandalia, Edwardsville, Ill. A prayer service will be held at 6 p.m. Monday at the mortuary. Funeral: Funeral procession to leave at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 15, 2008, from Kassly Mortuary, Fairview Heights, Ill., for a 11 a.m. Mass of Christian burial at St. Augustine of Canterbury Catholic Church, Belleville, Ill., with Monsignor Bill McGhee officiating.
