Born March 16, 1955, in Quincy, Denise was the daughter of Carl Dale and Julia Wind Pettit. She was married to John Becks in 1983 in Palmyra, Mo. Denise was devoted to her family and cherished the time she spent with her grandson, Brodie, and was excitedly awaiting the arrival of a grandchild due in November. A graduate of Quincy High School and John Wood Community College, Denise was employed as an LPN at the Illinois Veterans Home until her retirement due to health. Survivors include her mother, Julia Pettit of Quincy; two daughters, Sarah Becks and Ashley Becks, both of Quincy; a grandson, Brodie Becks of Quincy; a brother, Michael Pettit of Quincy; a sister, Robin McNeil and her husband, Harry, of Kansas City, Mo.; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Denise was preceded in death by her father, Dale; a brother, Jimmy Petti! t; her grandmother, Nellie Pettit; and an uncle, Arthur Hodges. SERVICES: Graveside services will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday in Greenmount Cemetery. VISITATION: 5-7 p.m. Tuesday in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home.
