Article Text: Lois L. Hill, 91, of rural Pleasant Hill, died Saturday, March 29, 2008, at Illini Community Hospital in Pittsfield. She was born May 25, 1916, in Waynesboro, Mo. to Peter Fleming and Nettie Mae Church York. She married Willie Albert Hill March 6, 1934 in Waynesville and he preceded her in death Jan. 3, 1988. She was a homemaker, farm wife and a cook for Hill's Fishing Camp. She was of the Pentecostal faith. She enjoyed music, the companionship of her husband and spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by six children, Wilma (husband Spencer) Smith of Rockport, June Alma (husband John) Hannel of Pleasant Hill, Jerald (wife Joanne) Hill of Nebo, Ronnie (wife Teresa) Hill of rural Pleasant Hill, Larry (wife Charlotte) Hill of rural Pleasant Hill and Carolyn (husband Sammy) Carroll of Pleasant Hill; three brothers, Merle York of Mexico, Mo., Alvin York of Elsberry, Mo. and Maurice York of Lebanon, Mo.; one sister, Nadine Dye of Waynesville; 15 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and three sisters. Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 1 at 10 a.m. at Lummis Funeral Home in Pleasant Hill conducted by Rev. Olin Hill. Visitation was held Monday, March 31 from 5-8. Burial followed at Crescent Heights Cemetery in Pleasant Hill.
