Article Text: Mary L. Orr, 79, of Quincy, formerly of Hull, died Wednesday, March 26, 2008, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy. She was born April 9, 1928 in Memphis, Mo. to Joseph and Clida Eleschager Ruggles. Ms. Orr was a homemaker and also worked at several restaurants in Hull. She enjoyed soap operas, crocheting, doing puzzle books and playing the piano and organ. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren. Mary attended Akers Chapel in Hull. Survivors include one son, Joe Orr of Quincy; one daughter, Mrs. Betty "B.J." (James) Holtman of Quincy; three grandchildren, Bryan Orr (Rhonda) of Plainville, Jessica and Justin Holtman of Quincy; and four great-grandchildren; Madison, Sheyenne, Alex and Braiden Orr. She was preceded in death by one grandson, Steve Orr and several brothers and sisters. Funeral services were held at 11a.m., Monday, March 31, at Niebur Funeral Chapel in Barry with Rev. Patsy Kelly officiating. Burial was in Akers Chapel Cemetery. Visitation was held Sunday evening from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Akers Chapel Cemetery.
