"Pink" Article Text: Mary W. "Pink" Grey, 85, of Winchester died Monday, March 17, 2008 at the Scott County Nursing Center. She was born July 28, 1922 the daughter of the late James V. and Sophia Brown McCabe. She married Joseph E. Grey July 1941 in Winchester. He preceded her in death. Also preceding her was a son, Timothy and two daughters, Margaret and Kathaleen. Mrs. Grey was a graduate of Winchester High School. She was a homemaker and also worked for many years as a dietician at the Scott County Nursing Center. She was a member of St. Mark's Church, the St. Mark's Alter Society and the American Legion Auxiary. She loved to cook and bake, make candy and play Bingo. Survivors include four daughters, Elaine (husband Terry) Fletcher of Jacksonville, Laura (husband Butch) Wood of Jacksonville, Nancy (husband Gary) Main of Barry and Barbara (husband Larry) Harbison of Winchester,; two sons, John Grey of Winchester and Tom (wife Robin) Grey of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; 16 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter; a brother, John McCabe of Canton, Mich.; and a sister, Anne (husband Ed) Prenger of Quincy. Prayer Services were held at 1 p.m. Friday March 21, at the Coonrod Funeral Home in Winchester. Burial was in St. Marks Cemetery. The family met with friends from 11:30 until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Scott County Nursing Center.
