Article Text: Morgan B. Campbell, 80, of Barry, died Monday, March 24, 2008, at his residence. He was born June 18, 1927 in Springfield to Warren and Barbara Beaghan Campbell. He married Gail A. Whitehead, Nov. 4, 1988 in Barry, and she survives. Morgan served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Philippine Sea CV47 from 1945 -1946. He farmed and trucked, of which he dearly loved, most of his adult life and especially loved to travel. Mr. Campbell was a very kind and generous soul who was a devout member of the Catholic faith. He is survived by his wife, two step-sons; Terrence (wife Erin) Kaminski and their five children of Plainfield and Tracy (wife Lisa) Kaminski and their six children of South Elgin; step-grandsons, Daniel and Casey Kaminski, children of step-son, Thomas H. Kaminski who preceded Mr. Campbell in death; two nephews, John Campbell of California and Art Campbell of Connecticut and a niece, Barbara Ford of Mendon, Nevada. He was preceded by his parents, a brother Doc Campbell, his step-son Thomas and a six-year old niece, Nina Campbell. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Thursday, March 27, at the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Barry with Father Roy Bauer officiating. Visitation was held two hours prior to the service at the church. Burial was at Calvary Cemetery near Pittsfield following the service with graveside military rites conducted by the Barry American Legion Post 222. A luncheon was served at the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church following the services. Memorials are suggested to the Blessing Hospice of Pike County or the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church of Barry. Niebur Funeral Chapel in Barry handled the arrangements.
