Article Text: Rachel F. Garner, 90, of Barry and formerly of El Dara, died April 12, 2008, at the Barry Community Care Center. She was born Nov. 12, 1917 in Derry Township in Pike County to Harry and LuElla (Miles) Dolbeare. She married W. Wendall Garner Sept. 25, 1937 in Pittsfield and he died Nov. 19, 2005. She was a member of the El Dara Christian Church where she had served as Treasurer and Sunday School Teacher. She had also been employed at Bergmans Meat Packing in Pittsfield for 20 years. She loved her home and her family She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Russell (Imogene) Harris of Pittsfield; one grandson, Brain (wife Heidi) Harris of Quincy; two granddaughters, Mrs. Bob (Carol) Barton of Clinton and Mrs. Jim (Linda) Girard of Hannibal, Mo.; six great-grandsons, Brad (wife ) Paula) of Tolono, Greg (wife Abbi) Barton of Charham, Marr Barton of Urbana, Alex Harris of Quincy, Ben Harris of Quincy and Michael Girard of Hannibal; two great-granddaughters, Kristin Barton of Clinton and Megan Girard of Hannibal; one great-great-granddaughter, Kylie Jo Barton of Tolono; two brothers, Raymond (wife Betty) Dolbeare of Louisiana, Mo. and Kenneth (wife Jessie) Dolbeare of Shelbina, Mo.; four sisters, Lucy Norton of Pittsfield; Mrs. Keith (Mary Ellen) Shannahan of Baylis, Anna Clark of New Canton and Mrs. Don (Georgia) Massey of the State of California; and two sisters-in-law, Deloris (Dolbeare) Reel and Ruth Dolbeare. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Hershel, Donald and Alfred Dolbeare ! and two sisters, Marjorie Dolbeare and Ferne McAllister. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 15 at the El Dara Christian Church with visitation held from 4-7 p.m. Monday, April 14 at the Kirgan Funeral Home in Barry. Burial was in Taylor-Martin Cemetery in El Dara.
