She was born Nov. 14, 1912 in Florence to the late Wesley and Lula Long Ralaford. She married Ray Williams Nov. 7, 1930 in Pittsfield, and he preceded her in death. She later married Wesley Waite Nov. 4, 1961 in Griggsville and he preceded her in death in 1983. Surviving are step-daughters, Viola Benson of Pittsfield, Louise Opoien and husband James of Marinette, Wisc.; three step sons, Paul Waite and Ralph Waite of both Pittsfield, and Kyle Waite of White Hall; 12 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 31 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews including locally, Bobbe Hofmeister and husband Steve and Donald Urven and wife Pam, all of Griggsville, Gina Bolfing and husband Larry of Orange, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; sisters, Thelma Harding, Ima Grable, Irene Salzman, Helen Gross, and Donna Dean Ralaford in infancy; and a brother, Paul Ralaford. She attended Tollgate school in Pike County. Later in life, she and her husband Ray Williams owned and operated Nationwide Grocery Store in Griggsville for many years and later, Ray's Cleaners in Meredosia. She was a member of the Pittsfield Assembly of God Church in Pittsfield. She loved to crochet and made several afghans for family and friends over the years. She also loved to cook. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 24, at the Airsman-Hires Chapel in Griggsville. Burial was in Pittsfield West Cemetery. Visitation was held one hour prior to services Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hinman-Chapel Cemetery c/o the Airsman-Hires Chapel Box 341 Griggsville, Il. 62340.
