He was born Dec. 15, 1919 in Wirt, Okla. to Amos R. and Chloe O. Alsup Potter. The family moved back to Baylis in 1927. He married Dorothy Helen Anderson Jan. 26, 1941 in Havana, and she survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Susan (Thomas) Koonce of Tremont; two granddaughters, Emily (Jeffrey) Maresh of Rochester, Minn. and Mary (Joshua) Rassi of Morton; one great-granddaughter Lauren Maresh; and one cousin, Marjorie Stout of Barry. He was a graduate of Pittsfield High School. Everett worked at the Joliet Arsenal and at Fleming-Potter in Peoria as a Production Coordinator, retiring in October 1985, after 40 years of service. He was a U. S. Army veteran serving as a Tech Sergeant during WWII and as Master Sergeant of the 32nd Engineer Construction Group in Korea. He was a member of Delavan United Methodist Church, its Methodist Men and the church choir. His funeral was at 11 a.m. Monday, March 17, at Davis Mortuary, Delavan Chapel. Rev. H. Dean Blackburn will officiate. Visitation was one hour before the service at the Davis Mortuary Delavan Chapel. Burial was in Prairie Rest Cemetery in Delavan.
