She was born Nov. 22, 1913 in Pleasant Hill, a daughter of James Austin and Daisy May Sapp Henry, she first married Dorwin Russell Looper, Sr. April 27, 1935 in Pittsfield and he died Jan. 31, 1948. She later married Ira J. Dyer, Sr. Aug. 31, 1951 in Arkansas and he died Feb. 7, 1977. Anna was one of the first telephone operators in Pleasant Hill and later in the Nebo office. She later was employed by the Pleasant Hill Garment Factory for many years. She loved animals, working outside and gardening, She truly had a "green thumb." She was a member of the Nebo Christian Church and a 1933 graduate of Pleasant Hill High School. Survivors include a son, 'Dorwin "Junior" (wife Sharon) Looper of rural Kampsville; two daughters, Virginia (husband Stile) Smith of Pleasant Hill and Patty Wright of Sprinfield; seven grandchildren; Veronica Woelfel of Kampsville, Kirby Looper of Kampsville, Carmen Blythe of Gillespie, Russ Smith of Pleasant Hill, Abby Wright and Eric Wright, both of Lafayette, Ind. and Lance Wright of Springfield; five great-grandchildren, Gwen, Gretrchen, Katie, Kris and Stephen and numerous step grandchildren; two step daughters, Carlene (husband Keith) Renoud of Barry and Wardell Bryant of Pittsfield, a stepson, Richard (wife Norma) Dyer of Pittsfield; and a step daughter in law, Sue Dyer of rural Nebo. Anna was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, a son, Gary Looper, an infant daughter, two brothers, Milo and Jake Henry, a sister, Berniece Renken, two stepdaughters, Josephine Benjamin and LaDonna Davis and by a stepson, Ira J. "Jack" Dyer. Jr. Funeral services were held Friday, March 8 at 1 p.m. at the Lummis Funeral Home in Pleasant Hill conducted by Rev. Aaron McCombs. Burial followed at the Nebo Cemetery. Visitation was Thursday evening at the funeral home. Memorials nay be made to the Nebo Cemetery Association.
