She was born October 13, 1925 in Griggsville to the late Earl G. and Rada Bell Anders Shelton. She married George Milton Rumple June 18, 1945 in East Moline, and he preceded her in death Feb. 8, 1987. Surviving are triplet sons, Val Rumple and wife Julie Potter of Springfield, Van Rumple and wife Rita of Valley City and Vern Rumple and wife Carol of Swayze, Ind.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Etta Sargent and husband Kenny of Pittsfield; a brother, Richard Shelton and wife Rokita of Pittsfield; and several nieces and nephews, including loving niece and caretaker, Brenda Gibbs of Pittsfield. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Earl Shelton, Jr., Homer Shelton, and Leroy Shelton; and a sister in infancy. Eileen attended the Griggsville Church of the Nazarene in Griggsville. She was a past employee of Trio Manufacturing and later Bergman Meat Packing Company until she retired after which she cleaned in and around the Griggsville area. She was known for her wonderful apple pies. She loved to cook for family gatherings, cleaning her home and in later years going fishing with George. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 9, at the Airsman-Hires Chapel in Griggsville. Burial was in Griggsville Cemetery. Visitation was held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at the chapel. Memorials may be made to the Barry Community Care Center or to the Pike Co. Special Olympics.
