My grandfather sold a pool hall he did not own in 1920 or 1921. I would like to find an article in the newspaper about this crime. The pool hall was in East Alton, Illinois (Madison County.) Would that newspaper be the Alton Telegraph? Family story says that my grandfather worked as a barber in the shop next door to the pool hall and the owner of the building had to go out of town and asked my grandfather to watch the place. That's when he sold it and took the money and drove to California, abandoning my grandmother and father, who was only 1-2 years old. Thanks, Elaine Powell Orlando, Florida
